Thanks to the Presbytery of St. Augustine, and their invaluable support, Montgomery Center was able to accomplish what many camps around the country believed was impossible. We successfully welcomed 116 campers and 22 staff, counselors and volunteers — lives that were impacted in one way or another by this program. In cooperation with Sewing Hope for DESC, and a with an emergency grant from the Peacemaking Program of the Presbytery of St. Augustine, multiple small groups and individuals in our presbytery quickly began sewing and donating homemade facemasks for medical personnel in a wide variety of facilities at the beginning of the Covid19 pandemic when PPE equipment was sparsely available. After almost 10 years of planning, fundraising and hard work, the Tooth Bus is finally in Jamaica! The mobile dental unit is outfitted with all the equipment needed to make and repair dentures. It will be used by the Jamaica Ecumenical Mutual Mission throughout Jamaica.
