St. Johns Church Dismissal

Edited September 19, 2021

St. Johns Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville is seeking dismissal from the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to the Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians (ECO). If the St. Johns request is approved by the presbytery, this means that the church would no longer be a member of our presbytery or our denomination. Our policy for dismissal can be viewed here: Dismissal Policy. At this time it is intended that this dismissal request will be on the docket of the Fall Stated Presbytery meeting to be held by Zoom on October 5, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.

St. Johns and the Administrative Commission elected by the presbytery to work with the church gave notice of an advisory vote of the congregation to be held Sunday morning, September 12. The results of the advisory vote were 149 in favor and 3 against being dismissed to ECO. These results have been considered by the Administrative Commission in preparing its recommendation to the presbytery on October 5.

Following are the files provided in connection with the advisory vote (and any additional files presented for the presbytery meeting):
