Meet Rev. Joe Albright, 2021 Presbytery Moderator

Teaching Elder Joe Albright is currently the Pastor of Geneva Presbyterian Church where he has been serving since 2013. He previously served at First Presbyterian Church in Sarasota, Hodges Boulevard Presbyterian Church and Community Presbyterian Church. He has been a member of the Presbytery of St. Augustine since 2005, and has been active on various committees including the Montgomery Board, New Church Development, Preparation for Ministry, Personnel, and Coordinating Council. As a validated ministry, Joe also writes daily devotionals for the Dial Hope Foundation (www.dialhope.org).

Rev. Joe Albright

Joe is a graduate of Flagler College and Columbia Theological Seminary. He was ordained in July 2001.  Before entering the ministry, Joe taught high school Spanish in Cape Hatteras, North Carolina and Lawrence Tavern, Jamaica.

Coming from a family full of Presbyterian ministers in Northeast Florida, it’s no surprise that Joe entered the ministry.  Joe’s great-grandfather was a Presbyterian minister in Leesburg, Florida; his grandfather served at Community in Atlantic Beach and First Ocala, and his uncle Ed served in Perry and First Presbyterian Jacksonville, as well as at the Presbytery.

Joe and his wife Robbie have five daughters – two in college, two in high school, and one in middle school. The family loves spending time on the ocean, and Joe especially enjoys surfing and fishing.

The Presbytery of St Augustine gives thanks for Joe’s gifts and willingness to serve as Moderator.

While we welcome Joe Albright as incoming Moderator we also give thanks for Edd Norris, outgoing Moderator, who will now chair the presbytery’s Coordinating Council. Chair of the Coordinating Council had been held by the Rev. Diane Wilson and we give thanks for her leadership this past year.
