The Director will develop and oversee the faith formation of members and friends of the church and have administrative, supervisory and ministry related responsibilities. Director of Chancel and Bell Choirs, First Presbyterian Church, Ocala
Position Description STATUS: Part-time
QUALIFICATIONS: • Background in sacred/Christian music • Experience in leading choirs • Proficiency in piano • Ability to work patiently with people of all ages and musical abilities
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Coordinate and direct the music program for the Chancel and Bell Choirs • Increase participation in the choirs • Prepare for and lead 2 “Music Sundays” each year (Fall and Spring) • Rehearse with the choirs on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings before the service • Work with the Pastoral Staff to coordinate music and hymn selections for worship services • Attend a music conference annually for personal growth and inspiration (for example: Montreat Music Conference) • Periodically meeting with Pastoral Staff and Worship Committee for future planning
SALARY: Competitive and commensurate with ability, education, and job experience. $1,500 monthly. *If interested, there is a possibility of adding the responsibility of starting and leading a Children’s Choir to this role and the compensation would be adjusted accordingly. Part-Time Pastor, Mikesville Presbyterian Church
