The presbytery continues to mark transitions and passages in its community life.
At our Winter Stated Presbytery Meeting on February 6, we installed our new moderator, Ralph Moulder (ruling elder member of First Presbyterian Church of Starke). We are grateful for the service of Cynthia Montgomery (teaching elder, at-large), who will now serve as the moderator of the Presbytery Council for one year.
Dudley Weaver’s last Sunday at Memorial Presbyterian Church before retirement was February 28, 2016. Click here to view a recording of that morning’s 11:00 a.m. worship service. The service was followed by a reception with the church family and friends.
Several of our teaching elders have begun service in stated supply or parish associate roles since our last newsletter: Susan Takis at Middleburg (stated supply); Ina Boyd at Westminster (parish associate – Ina is also a full-time chaplain with Haven Hospice); and Glenn Dickson at Faith (stated supply). The Committee on Ministry (COM) agenda will include each of these new contracts at the COM’s next stated meeting.
Lou Lothman, director of Pastoral Counseling Services, recently celebrated thirty years as a teaching elder member of the Presbytery of St. Augustine.
As a presbytery we come together in prayer and extend well-wishes for our friends and colleagues in their times of celebrations and transitions!
Please send us information as to all events that you would like us to publish in our newsletter and news posts. Thank you!
