The presbytery continues to mark transitions and passages in its community life.
We welcome our newest presbytery member, Cliff Hayes, who has transferred from the Presbytery of Great Rivers in Illinois. Cliff and his wife Pam are retired and live in Gainesville, Florida.
February 29 will be Dudley Weaver’s last day as pastor at our Memorial church, retiring after 40 years as a teaching elder. Before serving at Memorial, he has served churches in Charleston, SC, Portland, OR, and elsewhere.
We welcome Bruce Hedgepeth, who will begin serving our South Jacksonville church on February 1. The presbytery and the South Jacksonville church are grateful for the service of Stephen Kolderup, who began his interim call in April, 2014.
Carol DiGiusto, who retired on December 31 as an associate pastor at our Palms church, will begin as stated supply pastor for our Lake Shore church on February 1.
Terry Robertson completed his service to our Faith church at the end of 2015 and has returned to a more “active” retirement.
Rebecca (Becca) Gillespie, former stated supply pastor of our Middleburg church, has transferred to the Presbytery of New Hope in North Carolina, as confirmed at the January meeting of our Committee on Ministry.
As a presbytery we come together in prayer and extend well-wishes for our friends and colleagues in their times of celebrations and transitions!
