San Mateo Presbyterian Church is proud to welcome Larry C Hadrava, Jr., who has been commissioned as a ruling elder for pastoral service with us.  A special commissioning service was held on Sunday, October 19, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. There was a wonderful attendance of family, friends, fellow colleagues, and the local congregation gathered to share this special day and to show support.

Those participating in the service included The Rev. Earle Sickels, Pastor of Calvin Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, Ruling Elder Lynwood Timberlake of San Mateo Presbyterian Church, and Ruling Elder Jim Hall of Kirkwood Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville.  The Rev. Sam McCoy delivered an encouraging and inspirational sermon including a reading of 1 Timothy 4:9-22.

Beautiful music was arranged and performed by Andrea Wells.  She sang a beautiful version of “Majesty” and followed the sermon with a song that many of us hold dear to our hearts, “Here I Am Lord.”  Larry shared that this was the song he was singing when he felt God’s call leading him to a life of ministry.  There were few dry eyes in the house.

San Mateo Presbyterian Church welcomes Larry and his family to our church and community and look forward to an exciting future together.
