A life-long Presbyterian, Cynthia grew up in a Presbyterian church in Sarasota, FL, attended college in Memphis, TN at Rhodes College, a PC(USA) affiliated college, and became an elder at Conway Presbyterian Church in Orlando, FL after graduating from the Univ. of FL College of Law. God’s plan to get Cynthia into ministry involved marrying Jim Montgomery and moving to Atlanta where she discovered and attended Columbia Theological Seminary. Cynthia, Jim, and their three daughters (ages 14, 12 and 7) worship at South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church. She presently practices law at the Jacksonville office of GrayRobinson, P.A., and actively participates in the life of our presbytery. Her interests also include cooking, gardening and reading.
Interesting facts about Cynthia include that her youngest daughter was baptized on the same day she was ordained as a teaching elder, and she is the fifth generation in her husband’s Montgomery family to serve in the Presbytery of St. Augustine or its predecessor presbyteries. Cynthia loves being Presbyterian, not only because we chose to live our faith with “our hearts and our heads”, but also while we do things decently and in order, we also allow the Spirit always to reform us!
