PROTOCOL FOR RESPONSE
St. Augustine Presbytery Disaster Relief Commission (SAPDAC)

1. When there is a “named storm” headed our way Dave Tuttle will initiate a conference call to the members of the Commission. The time of the call will be sent out to members via email.

2. The Pre-storm conference call will establish:
            a. whether or not the Commission needs to begin its protocol
            b. when the next conference call(s) will be
            c. which region is most likely to get hit and establish back-up contacts for this region
            d. other

3. When the Commission begins its protocol, members of the Commission will contact the churches in their assigned regions to gather necessary info (who to contact afterwards, is the pastor evacuating, where will s/he be etc.) and will share this info with each other.

4. When the Commission begins its protocol, the presbytery office will broadcast fax or e-mail a pastoral letter and this protocol to clergy and churches.

5. If necessary the Presbytery office will take steps to prepare for an alternate location for operations. The location of this alternate site will be communicated to the Commission, the clergy and the churches.

6.  Members of the Commission will share with each other their proposed shelter location arrangements and any change in contact information if they are unable to stay at home.

7. The following “Buddy threesomes” will be in conversation with each other before and after the event for mutual support. These threesomes will cover for each other in case area communication is out.

Rick Palmer - Alisun Donovan - JoAnn Parramore

PJ Brobston - Herb Ramsdell  – Leo Richards

Dave Tuttle - Paul Hooker – Mike Williams

If one link loses communication the others will try to establish communications with them ASAP and will report this breach to the rest of the Commission.

8. The Commission members will contact their churches as soon as possible after the event and will share this information with Paul Hooker (or a person previously identified in the conference call before the storm) At a time specified in the “Pre-event” conference call, Commission members will report assessment information to Paul Hooker (or a person previously identified if Paul is out of touch). Paul (or identified person) will contact and begin conversations with PDA, SYNOD, and FLAPDAN with the latest assessment information.

9. If necessary Dave Tuttle will establish a time (by email and/or phone) for an “ongoing” conference call for the Commission members to share information updates.
