What did you do this past summer? Did
you think there could have been more? Did you want to do something
more meaningful with your life? Mutual Mission Youth Exchange with our
Jamaican partners may be the answer for you!
The Mutual Mission partnership between the
Presbytery of St. Augustine (SAMM) and Jamaica Ecumenical Mutual Mission (JEMM)
is involved in a joint mission exchange for high school-aged youth from
Jamaica and the USA. Youth accomplish a hands-on Christian mission
project in both Jamaica and Florida over a two-week period.
Participants have an opportunity to experience "up close and personal" the
culture and people of a country very different from their own.
The first week, our
presbytery participants will fly to Jamaica and meet their Jamaican partners
to experience Jamaican mission and culture. The second week, the
entire group will fly from Jamaica together and spend a week in northeast
Florida working on various mission projects and enjoying cultural
activities. The entire event promises to be an unforgettable
experience with life-changing potential.
It will
LOTS OF FUN and hard work too!
Who can go?
Participants must be youth who are entering 9th grade in the fall of 2008
through those who will have just graduated in the early summer of 2008.
